Weather in Northeast Ohio is changeable like many areas of the world that are located near a large body of water. Yesterday’s 86 degrees was a record-breaking high and 34 degrees above normal. Today is the third day in a row of temperatures above 80.
This heat wave is accelerating our spring blooms. The lilac buds are almost ready to open. Fortunately, this afternoon temperatures dropped more than 20 degrees. We went from doing garden cleanup in shorts and tank tops to closing all the doors and windows when the chilly winds swept everything off the dining room table.
However, this week's forecast calls for temps still at least 20 degrees above our normal high of 50. Hopefully, our spring bloomers "won't go south" as my Sweetie said this evening.
