Three Bags Full...and a Box

My Sweetie and I filled three large bags and a big box with items we no longer want or need. The clothes that no longer fit us because we have both lost weight since last winter filled three bags; the no longer needed kitchen items filled the big box.

As I went through my closet and drawers, I remembered the love that accompanied the gift of some of the clothes. My daughters gave me the flannel-lined jeans so I would be warm when I visited them in New England. My late mother gave me sweaters that were difficult to part with but I no longer wear them. It will make me happy if someone else will be warmed by them.

Something has changed for me about hanging onto things. Maybe it is a part of aging or perhaps the renovation showed me that I really don't need all these things. Hence the large box of kitchen items that my Sweetie will put on the front porch in the morning for Easter Seals.

It just feels better to give away possessions that are not being used and just taking up space.
